A Chicago venue with lots of history...

I visited the center and its grounds about a week after it opened in June. The 44th president of the United States has been busy since leaving office in 2017.

In addition to writing a book, establishing a film company, podcasting, and narrating films, Barack Obama has also helped to establish the center, which is a sprawling estate of buildings (a museum, recording studio, library, forum), parks, playground, gardens, and outdoor sculptures, in conjunction with the University of Chicago and the Obama Foundation.

Very interestingly, it is all located in Jackson Park on the Southside of Chicago, the one-time location of the Chicago World’s Fair in 1893.

You do not need tickets to walk the grounds and visit most of the buildings.
