A New and Unique Library

#RockSolidHistory from the #BarackObamaPresidentialLibrary, a new branch of the #ChicagoPublicLibrary.

This library, which is free and open to the public, is special in that it will be the first fully digitized presidential library thanks to the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA). More than 35,000 objects are being digitized by the NARA, such as art, cultural artifacts, books, textiles, domestic furnishings, sporting equipment, and other historical materials from the Obama administration, and will go on display at the nearby Presidential Center.

The library also functions as a local library with activities and programs for the community, as well as books and materials for lending and researching. There are multicultural murals lining the walls of the siting area.

The library is located on the grounds of the #ObamaPresidentialCenter at Jackson Park on the South Side of Chicago.
