Bobbling through history

#RockSolidHistory from Cooperstown, NY! The #BaseballHallofFame now has an exhibit dedicated exclusively to #bobbleheads!

Once just a silly thing to stick to your dashboard or desk, it has taken off to include some of the best athletes and pop culture icons of our time.

When did this start, you ask? Well, in the 1960s, notable baseball players like Roberto Clemente and Mickey Mantle became some of the first papier mâché bobbleheads that were released. Before that, it was only mascots. Then it died down for a while.
It was actually the San Francisco Giants that brought bobbleheads back to baseball and back into the public eye in the year 2000, according to the National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum in Milwaukee, WI.

In Cooperstown, you will be amazed by the variety of baseball bobbleheads in this exhibit. And the shelves shake and move, so you can see their bobbing in action. Fun!
Truly, figurines with bobbling heads date back to Ancient Japan and China.
