#RockSolidHistory from Fly Creek, NY at the #FlyCreekCiderMill!
This mill is amazing in that it still uses the power of water to operate a cider press. It was built in 1856 by Hosea Williams in an effort to modernize cider making in the area. Fly Creek Cider Mill is still a modern marvel as the family-owned business has extended its apple products (cider, sauce, pies, spirits) into other gourmet foods, and provides fun activities on-site like a history walk, duck and goose feeding, rubber duck racing, gem stone mining sluice, and a snack barn. Seen here is a 1928 Model A Huckster relic at the mill. There is also a collection of vintage John Deere tractors. It was named the Nation’s Best Cidery in 2024 by USA Today. #BestCidery2024 #CooperstownNYactivities #Cooperstownfun #FlyCreekHistory #NYhistory #NYfamilyfun #CooperstownFamilyFun #NYciderhistory
