Happy Book Birthday!!

Happy 9th book birthday for “A Rock Solid History of Hawthorne, New Jersey” - the whole reason I am here on social media!

The idea for the book was born while watching my sons engage with every rock they could find and see as small children. I thought, “I wonder how they can learn through rocks.” It was risky, but also a passion project. And it opened new doors to me!

My book not only teaches local history, it also bridges to the earth sciences. It’s a great summer read if you are local, or visiting, to help engage kids and learn from what is around them. Many readers have told me they now look at things differently and seek out history wherever they are.
