#RockSolidHistory from Tarrytown, NY and Happy Fourth of July!
Tarrytown saw a lot of nefarious action during the American Revolution, including the capture of British spy John André and the site where American General Benedict Arnold's treason was discovered. Perhaps if these things had not happened, the outcome of the war would’ve been different! Pictured here is a statue that is not about the Revolution. Instead, it honors the many local people who died in World War I. Why the flag was at half-mast that day in late January, I do not know. Wish I did. I just really liked the American flag imagery here and wanted to share. Have a wonderful and safe Fourth of July to my American friends. #happyfourth2025 #nextyearUSAturns250 #TarrytownHistory #JohnAndrehistory #BenedictArnoldhistory #historyiseverywhere #historymatters #NYhistory #RevolutionaryWarHistory #RevolutionaryWar #RevolutionaryWarinNY
