#RockSolidHistory from #RedRockCanyonPark in #Topanga, California!
This small park, which connects to Malibu Creek and Topanga State Parks, features red sandstone formations. The area is considered a riparian canyon and a sandstone gorge, meaning long ago a river ran through and whittled away the rock to form the stones and land as we now see them. While it is called Red Rock Canyon, there is actually a wide variety of colored sandstone as you walk along. Even nice little caves to cool off in. In April, wildflowers were in full bloom! #RiparianCanyon #RockHistory #Sandstoneformations #Sandstonegorge #CaliforniaParks #GetOutdoorsCA
