#RockSolidHistory from Whitehall, NY, a place where Bigfoot is protected from hunting. Yes, you heard me right. Bigfoot. Sasquatch. Yeti. Whatever name you prefer.
Why is that so in Whitehall? Well, according to locals, sightings of the elusive creature in this Adirondack town go back for centuries at least. Native Americans told tales of Bigfoot, and to this day, people have seen them and heard their calls. Pictured here is a roadside statue by a Bigfoot-themed souvenir store. In 2004, Whitehall passed a law that hunting Bigfoot is illegal. They are so beloved, there is a Sasquatch Festival every September in Whitehall.
